Watch the Most Awkward Soccer Penalty Kick of All Time

Sure, soccer has never really caught on here in the United States. But if there were more ham-handed plays like this, it just might. In this clip, soccer player Amir Sayoud attempts a penalty kick and falls flat on his face while doing so.

As the player for the Egyptian soccer team Al Ahly tries for a penalty kick against rival team Kima Aswan, he trips and falls face forward, weakly propelling the ball into the goalkeeper’s arms.

Fortunately, Al Ahly went on to win the match 4-0, but Sayoud’s gaffe certainly didn’t help. What do you think? Would you watch more televised soccer if it was this entertaining?
