The New Orleans Hornets will extend power forward Lance Thomas a contract for the remainder of the season. After signing Thomas to two 10-day contracts, Monty Williams' squad felt it was necessary to keep him around for the second-half stretch.

Big man Solomon Jones is also expected to sign a second 10-day contract with the fleur-de-bees this week.

Lance Thomas, a former Duke Blue Devil, has seen the court in 11 games this season, averaging just over 2 points a contest.

Solomon Jones has been thrust into action a lot lately due to injuries in the Hornets front court. He's responded with a 3.4 point and 2.0 rebound average in 5 game appearances.
