Melky Cabrera

San Francisco Giants outfielder Melky Cabrera will miss the next 50 games after testing positive for testosterone.

The suspension, which is without pay, will begin immediately, meaning that Cabrera would miss the remaining 45 games left on San Francisco's 2012 schedule, as well as five postseason games, should the Giants qualify.

Cabrera, the All-Star Game MVP which was held last month in Kansas City, is batting a '.346 with 11 home runs and 60 RBI's in his first season with San Francisco, after being acquired in a trade with the Kansas City Royals last November.

The Giants are currently tied with the Los Angeles Dodgers for first place in the National League's western Division.
