Madison Bumgarner pitched a four-hitter, outdueling Noah Syndergard in a postseason classic, while Conor Gillaspie hit a three-run homer in the ninth inning that sent San Francisco to a 3-0 victory over the New York Mets in the National League wild-card game Wednesday night at CitiField in Queens, New York.

Bumgarner, who now has thrown 23 straight scoreless innings in winner-take-all games, tossed a four-hit shutout, while Gillaspie belted a three-run homer off of New York closer Jeurys Famillia, who recorded an MLB-high 51 saves this season in the top half of the ninth inning to lift the Giants to the three-run win.
