LSU Tigers cornerback and kick returner Morris Claiborne has been named a finalist for two prestigous college football awards.

Yesterday, Claiborne was named as one of the fifteen semi-finalists for the Walter Camp award, which is given to the best player in college football. He was only one of two nominees to play on defense.

Today, Morris was named as one of five finalist for the Bronco Nagurski award, which goes to the nation's top defensive player.

Claiborne has four interceptions and five pass breakups for LSU, which boasts one of the top defenses in the nation. Claiborne has 38 tackles, tied for sixth on the team. The junior from Shreveport is also a threat on special teams, returning a kick 99 yards for a touchdown in week 4 against West Virginia.
