Scott Prather

Scott Prather has been with ESPN 1420 for over eight years. In addition to hosting a daily sports talk show, he serves as the brand manager and program director. Scott is known for his sometimes serious, and sometimes farcical look at sports. All listeners are entertained by Scott's peculiar, informative, and adamant look at sports. Scott has on many guests, ranging from professional athletes such as Roman Harper, Charles Tillman and Tyson Chandler, to Saints and Pelicans correspondent Gus Kattengail, as well as local sports radio personalities and journalists. Scott is also the lead producer for all UL sporting events broadcast on ESPN 1420. He often does color commentary for UL football during the overlap of college basketball and football season. Scott can be heard doing play by play for UL baseball and softball when filling in for Jay or Steve. Scott is a proud graduate of Loyola University of New Orleans, and got his start in radio working part time as a board operator, producer, and sports personality for Entercom broadcasting in New Orleans.

Turnovers Prove Costly As Hornets Lose 5th Straight

The New Orleans Hornets went into Wednesday night's matchup with the intent to protect the basketball. It simply didn't happen they turned it over 18 times on their way to an 93-87 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. The loss negated two outstanding performances by Jarrett Jack and Trevor Ariza.

Texas Rangers Sign Yu Darvish To $60 Million Deal

With today's deadline for the Texas Rangers to sign Yu Darvish looming, the American League champions got a deal done with the young Japanese pitcher. Darvish reportedly signed a 6 year $60 million deal with Texas. This, coupled with the $51.7 million posting bid to negotiate for Darvish's rights, means the Rangers spent more than $111 million on Darvish.

Hornets Comeback Falls Short, Lose 3rd Straight

The New Orleans Hornets trailed by 17 in the 4th quarter at Memphis before storming back to cut it to 2. It was a small lineup consisting mostly of Hornet reserves that spurred the comeback, but they couldn't complete it. In the end, the Grizzlies handed the Hornets their 3rd straight loss.

Hornets Bit By Timberwolves, Fall to 3-8

The New Orleans Hornets lost their second consecutive game Friday night at the Hive, falling to the Minnesota Timerwolves 87-80. Marco Belinelli (pictured above) finished with a season-high 20 points in the loss. Ricky Rubio made his first career start for Minnesota, ending the game with 12 points and 9 assists.
