Freshman Eric Walker scattered seven hits over eight shutout innings to lead the LSU Tigers to their 23rd regional title, defeating Rice 5-0.

It was LSU's 14th straight win.

Walker did not walk a batter and struck out eight in the gem.  Zach Hess pitched a scoreless ninth.

LSU got all the runs they would need in the second inning on an RBI double by Josh Smith, a suicide squeeze bunt by Michael Papierski and an RBI single by Jake Slaughter.

LSU will now entertain either Southern Miss or Mississippi State in the Super Regional in Baton Rouge next weekend.
