New Orleans Saints pro bowl middle linebacker Jonathan Vilma (pictured left) restructured his contract yesterday, agreeing to a paycut in the process. The deal saves the Saints around $2.7 million in cap space.

Vilma took a paycut of $2.2 million, thus lowering his cap number from $7.632 million to $4.93 million this season.

Despite being the one player mentioned in the "bountygate" investigation, and the signing of 3 linebackers this offseason, the Saints have been adamant about Vilma's future in the Crescent City, insisting he's a big part of it.

Vilma will most likely be suspended a number of game for his alleged role in "bountygate,"which will lead to more salary losses this year.
