Louisiana Ragin' Cajun head football coach Mark Hudspeth was rumored to be a part of Vanderbilt's coaching search. If he was, he isn't anymore, as the Commodores will reportedly name Stanford defensive coordinator Derek Mason their next head coach.

Shannon Terry of 247sports.com was first to report the news.

Jeremy Fowler of cbsports.com claims that Mason has not received an official offer yet, though his second interview for the position is scheduled today.

Mason has spent the last 4 years at Stanford, his first season as secondary coach, and the last three as defensive coordinator. The Cardinals finished second in the Pac-12 in 2013 in total defense.
