Louisiana’s Ragin’ Cajun women’s basketball team dropped their 2013-2014 regular season finale on Saturday afternoon, falling to the Arkansas St. Red Wolves, 90-49, in Sun Belt Conference play in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

The victory for Arkansas St. clinches the top-seed in the upcoming postseason Sun Belt Conference Tournament for Arkansas St., while securing the number seven-seed for Louisiana.

The win for the Red Wolves also avenges a 77-76 loss to the Cajuns back on February 15 at the Cajundome.

Arkansas St. led at halftime, 35-21, and then outscored Louisiana, 55-28 in the second half, to go on to the 41-point win.

The Red Wolves out-shot the Cajuns from the field, 59%-27%, and also finished with a  42-34 rebounding advantage.

Jane Morrill led the way for ASU, scoring 18 points, while Aundrea Gamble added 17 points, along with eight rebounds and ten assists.

In a losing cause for Louisiana, Jaylyn Gordon scored a game-high 25 points, while Brooklyn Arceneaux contributed six points, along with nine rebounds.

With the victory, the Red Wolves improved to 20-10, overall, and 14-4  in Sun Belt  Conference play, while the Cajuns fell to 14-15, overall, and 7-11 in league play.

The Cajuns will take on second-seeded WKU on Wednesday in the opening day of the post-season Sun Belt Conference Tournament, beginning at 6 o'clock.
