It took 19 innings and over six hours to do it, but the 11th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team opened-up Sun Belt Conference play by sweeping a doubleheader from the North Texas Mean Green at Lamson Park on Saturday.

UL won the first game, 7-6, in ten innings, before winning the nightcap, 54, in nine innings.

With the two wins, UL is now a perfect 21-0 overall, and 2-0 in Sun belt Conference play, while North Texas fell to 8-12 overall, and 0-2 in league play.

The 21 wins to begin the season is one short of the school record set back in 2006.

The two teams will conclude their three-game, conference series, with a noon single game on Sunday.

Admission is free to all fans.
