The 15th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns suffered a non-conference loss on Saturday afternoon.

Louisiana fell to the North Florida Ospreys, 1-0, in their first game of the third day of play in the 32nd Louisiana Classics at Lamson Park.

The win for the Ospreys avenged an 8-6 setback to the Cajuns on Friday.

The loss on Saturday, along with UL's win over North Florida on Friday, and their 4-0 over Southeastern Louisiana on Thursday, moved their record in this year's Louisiana Classics, to 2-1, while pushing their all-time record in the event, which dates back to 1987, to 123-17-1.

The victory by North Florida also put an end to Louisiana's modest four games.

The story of the game was North Florida starting pitcher Sydney Matzko, who did not allow a UL player to reach third base, and only one to reach second base.

After six scoreless innings, North Florida scored the only run of the game in the top half of the 7th inning, when Ashley Neisman reached on a leadoff single, moved to third on a sacrifice bunt and error, and then scored on a bunt off the bat of Megan Woodson, to make it 1-0 lead.

That was all the Ospreys, and Matzko would need, as they hung for the shutout win.

In a losing cause for Louisiana, Kelli Martinez went 2-for-2

Matzko (4-4) recorded the win in the circle for North Florida, tossing a 4-hit shutout, while striking out five.

Summer Ellyson (4-1) suffered the hard luck loss for the Cajuns, allowing one unearned run, while scattering only four hits.
