UL Softball Defeats Middle Tennessee 4-3, Completes Sweep – Recap

The seventh-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team completed a three-game, weekend, sun Belt Conference sweep of Middle Tennessee, defeating the Blue Raiders, 4-3, on Sunday in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Louisiana scored on steals of home, on the back end of double steals, in both the sixth and seventh innings, to capture the win.

Natalie Fernandez led the way for the UL offensive attack, going 2-for-3, with two runs, and four stolen bases, which tied a school record.

Senior right-hander Ashley Brignac (15-2) record the win for the Cajuns, while Caty Jutson (5-13) suffered the loss for the Blue Raiders.

With the win, Louisiana imprved to 38-2 overall, and 13-2 in Sun Belt Conference play, while Middle Tennessee fell to 13-25 overall, and 2-10 in league play.
