UL Softball Completes Sweep Of North Texas, 11-4

The 11th-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball team defeated the North Texas Mean Green, 11-4, on Sunday, completing a three-game, weekend, Sun Belt Conference sweep at Lamson Park.

UL was led at the plate by senior outfielder Katie Smith, who went 4-for-4, and senior outfielder Christi Orgeron, who blasted her ninth homer of the year.

Freshmen Jordan Wallace (10-0) picked up the complete-game victory, while Ashley Kirk (1-7) suffered the loss for the Mean Green.

With the win, the Cajuns improved to 22-0 overall, and 3-0 in Sun Belt Conference play, while North Texas fell to 8-13 overall, and 0-3 in league play.

The win by Louisiana ties the school record for most consecutive victories to start a season.
