The sixth-ranked Louisiana Ragin' Cajun softball defeated the North Texas Mean Green, 5-1, in the final game of day three in the 2012 Sun Belt Conference Championships in Boca Raton, Florida on Friday.

The win moved Louisiana into Saturday's championship game against South Alabama and eliminated North Texas from the tournament.

UL was led at the plate by shortstop Nerissa Myers, who went 2-for4, including two doubles, a run scored, and an RBI, which gives her 10 RBI's for the tournament.

The Cajuns also got an inside-the-park homer from outfielder Katie Smith, the first of her four-year career.

Freshman right-hander Jordan Wallace (25-1) recorded the win for Louisiana, alowing only one run over seven innings, while Brittany Simmons (11-11) suffered the loss for the Mean Green.

With the win, the Cajuns move to 49-3 on the year, and advances them to the title game on Saturday, at 3:05 pm, against South Alabama, while North Texas' season comes to an end at 28-26-1.
