Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball team, who returns 25 players from a team that qualified for the 2014 Women's College World Series a season ago, announced their 2014 fall schedule on Tuesday.

Louisiana will open their fall slate Saturday, October 4, when they take part in the Spring Klein College Classic in Texas, being hosting Galveston College the following weekend (Saturday, Oct. 11), in their first home game of the fall, which will also serve as the “Breast Cancer Awareness Game.”

On Saturday October 18, the Cajuns will host the National Pro Fastpitch All-Star Team in a game will that will honor those that have been affected with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), including junior first baseman Kelsey Vincent’s father, and volunteer assistant coach Robert Verde’s mother, who both died from the disease.

Louisiana will host McNeese State on Saturday, October 25, before hosting wrapping-up the home portion of their schedule on Wednesday, October 29, when they host LSU-Eunice in the “American Heart Association Game”, to honor those who have battled heart disease, including the father of freshman Miranda Grotenhuis, who passed died in July, due to a heart attack.

The Cajuns then head to Gulfport, Mississippi on Saturday, November 2, to take on the Florida St. Seminoles in a doubleheader, in match-up that will feature two of the eight teams that appeared in the Women's College World Series in Oklahoma City a year ago.

Louisiana will wrap up their 2014 fall schedule on Friday, November 8, with the annual Alumni Game at Lamson Park.
