After losing four players from last year's squad, the Louisiana Ragn' Cajun softball team will be adding their third mid-semester transfer.


Tipler, an all-state and all-conference performer for Gulf Coast State College, hit .442 with 10 home runs and 71 RBI in her collegiate debut last spring.

A native of Hoover, Ala., and Spain Park High School product, she transfers to Louisiana as a sophomore with three years of eligibility remaining.

Tipler compiled a team-high 84 hits last season, including 19 doubles, 3 triples, 10 home runs, and a 732 slugging percentage, while being honored as a first team all-conference and second team all-state selection by the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA).

Tipler prepped in Alabama, where she  hit a .419 with 10 home runs and 45 RBI's in her senior season

Tipler joins Brittany Holland, a first-team junior college All-American, and Brittany Rodriguez, a two-time All-Southland Conference selection while at Lamar, as mid-semester additions under new Louisiana head softball coach Gerry Glasco.

Louisiana lost four players from last year's team, including outfielder Aleah Craighton and pitcher Alyssa Denham, who will be transferring to Arizona, shortstop DJ Sanders, who will be transferring to Oregon, and catcher Brittany Nollkamper, who left the team prior to fall practice, and will be transferring to Arkansas.
