UL Baseball Wins Season Opener, Defeats Wichita St. 1-0 – Recap

Louisiana's Ragin’ Cajun baseball team opened up their 2012 season in  fine fashion on Sunday, defeating the Wichita St. Shockers, 1-0 in the CenturyLink Bobcat Invitational, Saturday night in San Marcos, Texas.

Daniel Nichols singled home Michal Strentz eighth inning RBI single to lift the Cajuns to the win.

Joe Zimmerman threw five scoreless innings as the UL starter, while Jordan Harrison picked up the win, pitching three scoreless innings of relief.

UL plays on Sunday, at 11 am, against Santa Clara.
