Brandon Silvers threw four touchdown passes and Troy scored 20 points off turnovers as the Trojans defeated Louisiana 41-17 in the season finale for both teams.

Three of Silvers' TD passes came in the first quarter on strikes of 23 yards to Brandon Burks and 15 and 62 yards to Teddy Rubin as the Trojans built a 24-0 lead in the first quarter.  He added a 67 yard pass to Jarvis Bentley after the Cajuns had trimmed the lead to 24-17 in the third quarter.

Redshirt freshman Jordan Davis saw the bulk of the action for the Cajuns after starter Brooks Haack threw a first quarter interception  Davis finished with 207 yards passing on 20-34 completions and a touchdown.

Burks led the Trojans in rushing with 118 yards on 25 carries and Rubin caught eight balls for 131 yards and two scores.

Cajuns' running back Elijah McGuire tallied 75 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown to go over the 1,000 yard rushing mark for the second straight year.  He also caught four passes making him the first Cajuns' running back to catch 100 passes in a career.  Gary Haynes led the Cajuns in receiving with eight catches for 66 yards.

Troy scored on its first possession with a six play, 76 yard drive and got a break two possessions later when Haynes muffed a punt to put the Trojans in business at the Cajuns' 24.  On the ensuing possession Haack was intercepted to set up a field goal to increase the lead to 17-0  Troy hit the big pass to Rubin for 67 yards to make the score 24-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Davis engineered an eight play, 75 yard drive in the second quarter culminating in McGuire's 18 yard touchdown run and added a 41 yard field goal by Carlos Alvarez on the next possession and the Cajuns trailed 24-10 at the half.

Louisiana got back into the game by driving 82 yards in 12 plays after the second half kickoff with Davis hitting McGuire for a touchdown to get the Cajuns within one score.  But Troy answered back with the long touchdown to Bentley to increase the lead, then forced fumbles by Davis on the next two possessions, resulting in the final ten points of the game.

Both teams finished the season 4-8, 3-5 in Sun Belt play.
