Louisiana Ragin' Cajun baseball coach Tony Robichaux has agreed to a 5 year contract extension that runs through June 30, 2020.

The contract has been approved by the University of Louisiana Board of Supervisors, and according to a source, the school expects the signed contract in the coming days. Once finalized, the University will issue a press release confirming the deal.

The contract will pay $125,580 annually, and includes a $60,000 signing bonus.

At the end of each year of the contract term, the University will deposit $30,000 in an interest-bearing annuity on behalf of coach Robichaux.

The University Foundation will also contribute $30,000 annually for radio and television responsibilties

That brings the annual worth of Robe's contract to $185,580, plus the signing bonus.

The contract includes several incentives (similar to the ones in his previous contract), including a $10,000 bonus for winning the Sun Belt Conference regular season title or tournament title, a $15,000 bonus for a Super Regional appearance, a $20,000 for a College World Series appearance, and $25,000 for a National Championship.

Robichaux can earn a $3,000 bonus if he earns Sun Belt Conference coach of the year honors, a $4,000 bonus for Louisiana coach of the year, a $5,000 bonus if he earns South Regional coach of the year, and a $10,000 bonus if he is recognized as the National Coach of the Year.

If the average paid attendance for home baseball games equals or surpasses 2,500, coach will receive a $2,500 bonus.

In addition to on field accomplishments, team academic based incentives include a supplemental compensation of $2,000 for a 3.0 or higher team GPA or an APR score of 930 or better.

Robichaux and the Cajuns are coming off a 42 win season and a trip to the Super Regionals.

Robichaux sports a 1037-667-1 lifetime coaching record, and a 774-490-1 record at Louisiana.
