Tigers Topple Tennessee

The top ranked LSU Tigers continued their dominance, pummeling the Tennessee Volunteers in Knoxville today by the score of 38-7.
Jarrett Lee was 10 of 14 for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns. Jordan Jefferson ran for one score, and finished with 73 yards on the ground. Running back Spencer Ware scored twice, and finished with 93 all-purpose yards.
Rueben Ranndle led the way in the receiving department for the Tigers, reeling in 5 catches for 86 yards and a touchdown.
LSU’s defense harrassed Volunteer quarterback Matt Simms, who made his first collegiate start today in place of the injured starter Tyler Bran. Simms was a paltry 6-20, and threw 2 interceptions. Morris Claiborne took one of those picks back 89 yards, setting up Randle’s touchdown catch.
With the win, LSU improves to 7-0, and 4-0 in SEC play.
The Tigers return home next week for a 2:30 kickoff against SEC West foe Auburn.
