Philip Rivers threw two touchdown passes and the Chargers' defense added two late scores on Chiefs' turnovers, as San Diego routed visiting Kansas City, 31-13, on Thursday night.

Leading 10-6 after three quarters, San Diego (4-4) scored three touchdowns in the final period, including Shaun Phillips' recovery of a fumble by Kansas City quarterback Matt Cassel and Demorrio Williams' 59-yard interception return. Cassel now has 18 turnovers on the year.

Kansas City (1-7) managed just two Ryan Succop field goals and a meaningless late touchdown on a 6-yard run by Shaun Draughn with 4:26 to play. Dwayne Bowe led the Chiefs with eight catches for 79 yards. He also fumbled in Chargers' territory on Kansas City's first drive of the game. The Chiefs committed four turnovers on Thursday, raising their league-leading total to 29.

Rivers completed 18 of 20 pass attempts for 220 yards, including touchdown tosses to Antonio Gates and Malcom Floyd.
