The New Orleans Hornets announced this week that beginning in the 2013-2014 NBA season they will change their name to the New Orleans Pelicans.

Some people love the name, while others, well, not so much.

Part of the reason a lot of people don't like it is that they consider the pelican to be unintimidating, when in actuality, they're know as prolific hunters, and can have feisty dispositions.

Besides, the nicknames Lakers, Mets, Islanders, Jazz, Packers, and Brewers are far from being intimidating.

And for you Saints fans out there, that's a great nickname, but it's probably the least intimidating name there is.

So, nicknames, if judged strictly on intimidation, are probably overrated.

Here, Houston Rockets' head coach Kevin McHale lets us know he's not exactly scared by the new name.
