The American League East is annually regarded as the toughest division in all of Major League Baseball.
Last season, the Yankees won 97 games to lead the division, but the Rays also qualified for the playoffs, with 91 wins, and the Red Sox just missed, with 90 wins
The Baltimore Orioles unveiled new uniforms for the 2012 season Tuesday that include the team’s famous cartoon bird and a return to the orange jersey they haven’t used since 1992, the team’s inaugural season at Camden Yards.
Both changes are immediately in effect on all team apparel.

While foul balls hit into the stands provide fans with the chance to make some pretty epic catches, those suckers are traveling at high enough speeds to cause an injury.
During Sunday night’s game against the Orioles, Yankees third baseman Eric Chavez almost catches a foul ball that was headed for the crowd. When he can’t make the grab, the ball ends up hitting a woman in the front row smack in the unprotected face.

August 26, 2011 Former Major League pitcher Mike Flanagan, who spent most of his career with the Baltimore Orioles, was found dead at his home, on Wednesday.
On Thursday his death was ruled a suicide.
Flanagan compiled a 167-143 career record, in 18 season, including a 23-9 record in 1979, when he won the American League Cy Young Award.
