Sun Belt Releases Conference Basketball Schedule

We still don't know all of the teams the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns will play in the 2014-15 basketball season.

But we know when and where the Sun Belt Conference games will be.

The league released their composite conference schedule today, which will be the same for both men and women.  All conference games will be doubleheaders.

With eleven teams in the league and a double round robin schedule, the Cajuns will play twenty conference games.  That necessitates beginning league play before the new year.  There will also be two weeks where the Cajuns will play three conference games in one week.

January home contests for the Cajuns will include Troy on Saturday the 3rd, defending regular season champion Georgia State on Thursday the 8th, South Alabama on Saturday the 17th, ULM on Monday the 19th, and Arkanasas State on Saturday the 22nd.

In February, the Cajuns will host league newcomer Appalachian State on Thursday the 5th, UTA on Saturday the 7th, Texas State on Thursday the 19th and Georgia Southern on Saturday the 28th.  The Cajuns close their home schedule with UALR on Thursday, March 5.

In addition, the league announced the dates for the league tournaments to be held at the UNO Lakefront Arena.  The women's tournament will run March 11-14, with the men from March 12-15.  Formats for the two tournaments will be the same as last year with the top eight teams qualifying for the tourney.
