As we head into the third weekend of the 2014 college softball season, Sun Belt Conference teams are off to a nice start, with all but one sporting a winning record.

19th-ranked South Alabama is 7-1, followed by Georgia St. (4-1), Texas St. (8-3), ULM (7-3), 22nd-ranked Louisiana (6-3-1), UT-Arlington (6-4), WKU (5-4-1), and Troy (4-5-1).

This week, Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns will be in Clearwater, Florida to take part in the NFCA Leadoff Classic. Louisiana will take on Illinois St., James Madison, Hofstra, South Florida, and Rutgers.

South Alabama will be in Orlando, Florida for the Citrus Classic where they will face the likes of IPFW, East Carolina, Lehigh, Mercer, and Georgia.

Georgia St. has a busy weekend, taking on Stony Brook, twice, Kennesaw St., Tulsa, and Georgia Tech.

ULM will host the Warkawk classic where they will take on Louisiana Tech, South Dakota, Southern, twice, and Alcorn St., twice.

Texas St. will be in Denton, Texas, Thursday-Sunday, for the Texas Shootout, where they are scheduled to square off with North Texas, Sam Houston St. Abilene Christian, and Stephen F. Austin.

UT-Arlington will host Texas Tech, Illinois, Creighton, UMKC in the UTA Hilton Invitational.

WKU hosts the Hilltopper Spring Fling this weekend, where they will play Canisius, twice, along with Miami (Oh) and Bradley.

Troy heads to Gainsville, Florida this weekend for the Lipton Invitational, where they will face the likes of Georgia Southern, Florida, Coastal Carolina, Florida, and Indiana.

Conference paly begins in about a month, so teams are continuing to get ready, and if the first two weeks of play are any indication, the race for the 2014 league title should be fun once again.
