Seven big SEC baseball series' highlight the fourth weekend of conference play this week.

In the east, after two weekend of play, Florida and South Carolina are 6-3, with Vanderbilt one game behind at 5-4, while Kentucky is 4-5, Georgia is 3-5, and Tennessee and Missouri are both 3-6.
In the west, Alabama and Mississippi St. are both 6-3, with Auburn one game back at 5-4, while Arkansas, Ole Miss, and Texas A&M are all 4-5, and LSU is 3-5.
Let’s take a look at the respective conference series’ schedule for this  weekend, with the statistics entering play earlier in the week:

 

#3 SOUTH  CAROLINA (25-3, 6-3) at ARKANSAS (18-10, 4-5)

This match-up will feature two of the top three pitching teams in the SEC, with South Carolina first (1.75 ERA.) and Arkansas third (2.22)

The Gamecocks feature Wil Crowe, who is 6-0, with a 1.37 ERA., while the Razorbacks feature Jalen Beeks, who is 4-2, with a 1.27 ERA.

Offensively, South Carolina ranks third in hitting, at a .301, and tied for second in home runs, with 20, while Arkansas ranks last it hitting, at a .259.

Game times are scheduled for 7 pm, 6:30 pm, and 6 pm (cdt), Thursday-Saturday.

 

#4 VANDERBILT (24-6, 5-4) at TENNESSEE (19-8, 3-6)   

Offensively, Vanderbilt ranks sixth in hitting (.286), while Tennessee ranks fifth (.287).

Pitching-wise the Commodores rank second in ERA. (1.97), while Tennessee currently ranks ninth (2.86).

Game times are set for 5 pm, 6 pm, and 1 pm, Friday-Sunday

 

#12 MISSISSPPI ST. (20-10, 6-3) at #9 LSU (21-8-1, 3-5-1) 

In the hitting department, LSU ranks eighth (.273), with Mississippi St. in 10th (.270).

In terms of pitching, the Tigers, led by right-hander Aaron Nola, who is first in the conference with a sparkling 0.55 ERA., currently rank fourth as a team (2.26), while the Bulldogs rank eighth (2.76).

Scheduled game times are 6:30 pm (cdt) on Friday, 6:30 pm on Saturday, and 1 pm on Sunday.

 

AUBURN (19-11, 5-4) at #16 OLE MISS (21-8, 4-5) 

Auburn ranks second in hitting (.302), and feature the top two hitters in the league, in Damek Tomscha and Jordan Ebert, who are hitting a .391 and a .388, respectively, and seventh in pitching (2.70 ERA.), while Ole Miss ranks fourth in hitting (.298) and sixth in pitching (2.42).

Game times are set for 6:30 pm on Friday night, 4 o’clock on Saturday afternoon,  and 1:30 pm on Sunday afternoon.

 

#20 FLORIDA (19-10, 6-3) at #19 KENTUCKY (20-9, 4-5) 

Offensively, Florida ranks 12th in hitting (.262), while Kentucky is hitting a .307, which leads the way.

Kentucky features a potent line-up, including Austin Cousino, who leads the league in hits (44), Max Kuhn, who leads the conference in runs scored (34), and A.J. Red, who leads the way in home runs (9).

In the pitching category, the Gators are currently 11th (2.89 ERA.), while the Wildcats rank 12th (3.08).

Game times for the series are 5:30 pm (cdt) on Friday, noon on Saturday, and 11 am on Sunday.

 

#21 ALABAMA (20-8, 6-3) at TEXAS A&M (18-12, 4-5)

Alabama currently ranks ninth in hitting (.271) and fifth in pitching (2.31 ERA.), while Texas A&M ranks seventh in hitting (.276) and tenth in pitching (2.87).

Scheduled game times for the series are 6:30 pm on Friday, 2 o'clock on Saturday, and 1 pm on Sunday.

 

GEORGIA (16-12, 3-5) at MISSOURI (13-14, 3-6) 

Georgia ranks 11th in team batting average, at a .270, and last in pitching, with a 4.35 ERA., while Missouri ranks 13th in both hitting (.260) and pitching (2.66).

The two teams will play on Friday night at 6 pm (cdt), and then on Saturday at 2 o’clock, and on Sunday at 11 am.
