A fan of the New Orleans Saints cheers against the Seattle Seahawks at Louisiana Superdome on November 21, 2010 in New Orleans, Louisiana.

There's hesitance at this stage of 2010 to compare these New Orleans Saints to the Saints of you-know-when. We've all wearied of it just a touch by now -- the current roster of players as much as anyone -- especially given that the current mark of 7-3 is stand-alone impressive, tied for the second-best record in the NFC and for fourth-best in the league.

"Each year is a new year," quarterback Drew Brees said. "I'm not going to say it's easy to come off a Super Bowl season and dominate everybody. You have to establish a new identity.

"Last year was special, awesome. But this is about what this team can accomplish."
