Patrick Crayton

The New Orleans Saints signed veteran receiver Patrick Crayton on Monday.

Crayton was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the seventh round of the 2004 NFL Draft, out of Northwest Oklahoma St.

The De Soto, Texas native spent six years with the Cowboys (2004-2009), compiling 196 receptions, for 2,888 yards, and 23 touchdowns.

His best season in Dallas was 2007, when he caught 50 balls, for 697 yards, and seven touchdowns.

Crayton left the Cowboys to join the San Diego Chargers in 2010, where he played two years, catching 51 passes, for 762 yards, and three touchdowns.

The 34-year old Crayton, who will be trying to add some depth to a Saints receiving group that is looking to find a replacement for the injured Joe Morgan, did not play in 2012.
