The Advocate is reporting that the New Orleans Saints are placing safety Kenny Vaccaro on injured reserve.

Vaccaro suffered a groin injury back on November 5 and missed two games before coming back last week in the Saints win over the Jets. Obviously, the injury was bad enough for the Saints to call it a season for the veteran safety.

It is being reported that Vaccaro's groin injury could require surgery in the offseason where he is scheduled to become a free agent if the team doesn't reach a deal on an extension before then.

This is the second big blow to the Saints defense after losing LB A.J. Klein for the year earlier this week.
