The New Orleans Saints are back in action on Sunday afternoon, when they play host to the San Francisco 49ers in a match-up of two NFC teams that are currently at the .500 mark.

Kickoff time at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, La. is scheduled for noon, and you can hear all the play-by-play action on ESPN 1420, as well as 97.3 The Dawg.

The game marks the first of three-consecutive home contests for the Saints.

The Saints defeated the Carolina Panthers, 28-10, back on October 30, to improve to 4-4 on the season, while the 49ers, who lost to the St. Louis Rams, 13-10, are also 4-4.

San Francisco leads the all-time series, 47-25-2, and have outscored New Orleans, 1,800-1,362, in the 74 match-ups between the two franchises, which dates back to 1967.

Offensively, the Saints are averaging 28.4 points, 436.5 total yards, 307.0 passing yards, and 129.5 rushing yards-per-game.

New Orleans is led by quarterback Drew Brees, who has thrown for 2,524 yards and 15 touchdowns, running back Mark Ingram, who has accumulated 431 rushing yards with six touchdowns on 88 touches, and tight end Jimmy Graham, who has compiled 518 receiving yards, along with five touchdowns, on 46 catches.

The 49ers, offensively, are averaging 21.0 points, 345.6 total yards, 226.1 passing yards, and 119.5 rushing yards a contest.

San Francisco is paced by quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who has passed for 1,956 yards and 12 touchdowns, running back Frank Gore, who has rushed for 472 yards and one touchdown, and Anquan Boldin, who has 45 receptions for 541 yards and two touchdowns.

Defensively, the Saints are giving up an average of 370.5 yards-per-game, which ranks 21st in the league, while the 49ers are allowing 291.9, which ranks 2nd.
