Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry nailed a second-chance 3 point shot in the final seconds of regulation, capping off a furious rally that forced overtime, where Golden State finished off the New Orleans Pelicans 123-119.

New Orleans played some of their best basketball of the season for the first 42 minutes of regulation, before being outscored 23-7 in the final 6 minutes of the 4th quarter.

"The game's tied together," said Warriors coach Steve Kerr. "You play poorly on one end, it'll effect the other."

The Pelicans offense stalled down the stretch, leading to poor execution on defense, in particularly on the boards where Golden State feasted on offensive rebounds, taking advantage of the extra opportunities.

"Second chance points (hurt us)," said Pelicans coach Monty Williams. "They had 10 offensive rebounds in the 4th quarter...Down the stretch we didn't execute...We didn't execute in the 4th."

Anthony Davis finished with a team-high 29 points, 15 rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 assists and 2 steals, but missed one of two free throws before Curry's game-tying three, keeping the door open for Golden State.

Davis' missed free throw was only one of many issues late for the Pelicans. In addition to Golden State's second chance points, the Pelicans offense stalled.

"We missed shots," explained Davis. "We've got to do a better job of executing and following our game plan. Especially late in the game."

The Pelicans miscues allowed the Warriors to complete their unbelievable comeback.

"I wouldn't say it was a miracle, but it was pretty close," said Warriors guard Klay Thompson of the comeback. "They're a good team, are really talented and have a great future."

One positive note was the play of Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson, who struggled in games 1 and 2. On Thursday night, Anderson scored 26 points off the bench, going 10-14 from the field and grabbing 5 boards. After the loss, however, Anderson wasn't worried about his stat line.

"It's tough. There's really no other way to describe it," said Anderson. "It's frustrating to know we lost this game tonight."

Tyreke Evans scored 19, while Norris Cole added 16 for the Pelicans, who shot an impressive 51.1% from the field. In the end, it wasn't enough.

"It's tough to have a game and to lose it that way," said Williams. "There's no way to fix it right away. We've got to deal with it and own it."

New Orleans needs to deal with it in a hurry, as game 4 will take place on Saturday at the Smoothie King Center with the Warriors up 3-0. Tip-off is set for 7:00.
