New Orleans Pelicans forward Tyreke Evans was getting to the hole at will when he entered the Pelicans first preseason game in the 2nd quarter. Trailing in Houston to the Rockets, Evans started playing off the dribble, quickly scoring 7 points. However, after his last basket, he fell on the wooden floor and grabbed his left ankle.

He was helped to the locker room by a trainer. Fortunately, X-Rays showed no break, but Evans definitely has a sprain. The Pelicans announced that an MRI will need to be performed before determining the severity of the injury.

Evans' sprained ankle puts a negative note on the Pelicans preseason opener Saturday night, 116-115 win over the Rockets.
