The New Orleans Pelicans ended the 2014 year with a heartbreaking loss, one in which center Omer Asik was struck with bad luck at the worst possible moment.

After taking an 84-82 lead with 0.7 seconds left on an Anthony Davis put back dunk, the Pelicans were on the verge of defeating the defending NBA champion San Antonio Spurs for the third time in as many tries this season.
