All of the reports about the Boston Celtics trying to acquire Chris Paul through a trade are now a moot point. Why? Because Paul wouldn't sign an extension with the Celtics to remain in Boston after this season.

For any team to trade for Paul, the New Orleans Hornets would need to receive valuable assets in return. No team in the NBA would be willing to give up key players and draft picks in exchange for a player they might not have for more than a shortened season.
