The New England Patriots are favorites to win their fifth Super Bowl title.

The Patriots, who will be playing in their ninth Super Bowl in franchise history, opened as three-point favorites over the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI, according to Las Vegas oddsmakers.

The over-under started at 57 on Sunday, after the NFC and AFC title games, but was quickly bet up to 59, with two of the top three scoring teams in the NFL going up against each other.

The Falcons rank first, averaging 33.8 points-per-game, while the Patriots are third, at 27.6.

Defensively, New England is tops is scoring defense, allowing only 15.6 points-per-game, while Atlanta ranks 27th, allowing 25.4 points a contest.

The Patriots, who are 4-4 in past Super Bowl, and 4-2 under Bill Belichick, will be playing for their second Lombardi Trophy over the past three years, after defeating the Seattle Seahawks, 28-24, two years ago.

The Falcons' only previous Super Bowl appearance was a 34-19 loss to the Denver Broncos back in 1999.

Super Bowl LI will held at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas on Sunday, February 5.
