Minnesota high school basketball player Anders Broman, a Junior at Lakeview Christian Academy, scored a mind-boggling 71 points against opponents Melrose High. Broman couldn’t really celebrate considering his team lost by 4 points (114-110).

Cajun Softballers Win 2 More, Remain Undefeated
Louisiana's Ragin' Cajun softball team wrapped up play at the 8th Annual Mardi Gras Invitational Sunday evening with two more victories to improve their record to 7-0. Freshmen pitcher Jordan Wallace threw a no-hitter for the Cajuns in a 9-0 win over Louisiana Tech. Senior Ashley Brignac followed that game with a complete game shutout in a 10-0 victory over Northwestern State.

NCAA College Football Bowl Recap — Dec. 31-Jan. 8
While we can argue about whether or not the right teams were playing, it was hard to argue with the excitement of the BCS bowl games so far. Three of the four were decided either in the last seconds of regulation (Rose Bowl) or in overtime (Fiesta and Sugar bowls), while the fourth (Orange Bowl) shattered virtually every bowl game record on the books for offensive statistics.
But the non-BCS games also gave us a lot of close games and great individual performances, as well. Here are the highlights from the final week of bowl season.

As college football’s regular season nears its end, the postseason picture is starting to take shape. Barring a major shakeup in the polls, Alabama punched its ticket to the national title game. The only thing that remains to be seen is if they’ll have another shot at top-ranked LSU.
