California Stuns Japan in Little League World Series on Dramatic Walkoff Single [VIDEO]

With two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth inning, 12-year-old Nick Pratto delivered a clutch hit that gave Huntington Beach, Calif., a 2-1 victory over Hamamatsu City, Japan, in the final game of the Little League World Series. The squad became the seventh team from California to win the title.

Braydon Salzman pitched a gem of a game for  California, striking out the side in the top of the fifth inning before navigating out of a jam in the top of the sixth.

Former Major League Pitcher Hideki Irabu Found Dead from Suspected Suicide

Former New York Yankees pitcher Hideki Irabu is dead, according to multiple reports in Japan. He was 42.

Irabu was reportedly found dead in his California home Tuesday from a suspected suicide. According to NBC Sports, citing Japanese sources, Irabu hung himself.

USA Goalie Hope Solo did not resort to theatrical tricks when she injured her knee late in the World Cup Final on Sunday against Japan, and elected to play through it. The injury occured early in the second period of extra time, with the US clinging to a one goal lead. Japan went on to win the Women's World Cup with PKs, and Solo is questioning whether she did the right thing.

USA Rallies Past France 3-1 to Reach World Cup Final

Being outplayed throughout the second half and having seen a 1-0 halftime lead evaporate, the United States needed a spark.

Wambach's header off a corner kick in the 79th minute gave the USA the lead for good, and Alex Morgan added an insurance goal three minutes later as the US reached the World Cup Final for the first time since winning the Cup in 1999
