Pacers Manhandle Heat, Take 2-1 Series Lead

With all the national talk about what the Miami Heat are doing wrong, the focus should be on what the Indiana Pacers are doing right. On Thursday night, the answer to that question was everything.

All-Star Center Roy Hibbert (pictured left) had a monster game, scoring 19 points and pulling down 18 rebounds. David West scored 14 and grabbed 9 boards as well. Indiana was intent on attacking the paint from the get go. It helped propel them to a dominating 94-75 victory.

Without Chris Bosh in uniform for Miami, Indy wanted to take advantage inside. That helped open up things on the outside for the Pacers.

George Hill scored 20 and Danny Granger 17, as the overlooked Pacers put on a basketball clinic in front of a soldout Bankers Life Fieldhouse in downtown Indianapolis.

Home court advantage is very real for the Pacers, who have won their last 3 postseason home games by a combined 52 points.

LeBron James scored 22 and Mario Chalmers had a game-high 25, but the rest of the Heat were anything but hot from the field. Dwyane Wade finished with as many turnovers as points, scoring a measly 5 points on 2-13 shooting.

The Heat continue to miss the presence of All-Star Chris Bosh inside. Hibbert packs the paint on defense, and attacks it on offense. The 7’2 All-Star out of Georgetown was too much for Miami to handle in Game 3.

With the victory, Indiana takes a 2-1 series lead. Game 4 remains in Indy, with tip-off set for Sunday afternoon at 2:30.
