North Carolina #1 In Latest College Baseball Top 25 Poll, LSU Is Second
The top two teams remain unchanged in this week’s USA Today Baseball Top 25 Coaches poll, with the North Carolina Tar Heels holding on to the top spot, with the LSU Tigers right behind at number two.
North Carolina went unbeaten last week, defeating VCU and Winthrop in non-conference play, while also defeating Clemson in their lone ACC game of the week, to move to 24-1 on the year.
The Tar Heels were scheduled to play Clemson in an ACC doubleheader on Monday.
LSU also went undefeated last week, defeating Tulane in a non-conference game, while sweeping a three-game, SEC series from Missouri over the weekend, moving to Tigers to 26-2 on the season.
Vanderbilt, Cal St.-Fullerton, and Florida are 3-5 in this week’s poll, with Oregon St., Oregon, Virginia, Kentucky, and UCLA round out the top ten.
At 11-15, it’s South Carolina, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisville, and Georgia Tech, with Ole Miss, Mississippi St., Indiana, Oklahoma St., and Houston at 16-20.
Rounding out the top 25, at 21-25, it’s Cal Poly, Rice, Arizona St., Notre Dame, and North Carolina St.
