Nnamdi Asomugha Agrees To Deal With San Francisco 49ers

Veteran NFL cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha has agreed to a one-year deal with the San Francisco 49ers worth up to $3 million.

Asomugha visited the New Orleans Saints several weeks ago, and Sean Payton spoke highly of him. New Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan coached Asomugha in Oakland from 2004-2008. Asomugha was a 4-time All-Pro with the Raiders, though he struggled in a 4-3 zone scheme with the Philadelphia Eagles the last two seasons.

He will be 32 when next season begins, and was actually born here in Lafayette.
