The LSU Tigers suffered their second-consecutive defeat of the 2015-2016 college basketball season on Tuesday night, dropping an 83-72 overtime decision to the North Carolina St. Wolfpack on the final day of the Legends Classic at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The defeat for LSU followed an 81-80 setback to Marquette in the semifinals on Monday night.

North Carolina St. led by as many as 12 points in the second half, and then led by two points with under 1:00 remaining, before LSU's Ben Simmons tied the game with a layup with :38 to go.

The Tigers had two opportunities to take the lead, and possibly win the game, with under :30, but failed, while North Carolina St.'s Abdul-Abu nearly gave the Wolfpack the win in regulation with :07 remaining but his bucket was taken away after officials determined a shot clock violation had been committed, sending the game into overtime.

In the extra 5:00, Maverick Rowan scored 7 points, while Anthony Barber scored the final 6 points of the game, all from the free throw line, as the Wolfpack left with the overtime win.

North Carolina St. outshot LSU from the field, 40%/36%, while also outrebounding the Tigers, 50-41.

Barber led the way fro the Wolfpack, finishing with 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 7 assists.

In a losing cause for the Tigers, Tim Quarterman had 19 points and 9 rebounds, while Brandon Sampson added 18 off the bench.

With the victory, North Carolina St. improved to 3-2 on the season, while LSU fell to 3-2.

The Tigers are right back in action on Monday night, when they travel to Charlesto, South Carolina to take on Charleston.
