The 12th-ranked LSU Tigers are back in action on Saturday evening, when coach Les Miles' squad plays host to the Sam Houston St. Bearkats in non-conference play at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge.

The game marks the home opener for LSU, and the first of four-consecutive home games for the Tigers.

LSU, who defeated Wisconsin, 28-24, in their season opener last Saturday, is 1-0 on the year, while Sam Houston St., a Southland Conference member, who dropped their first game to Eastern Washington, 56-35, before defeating Alabama St., 51-20, last week, is currently 1-1.

Offensively, LSU is averaging 28 points, 365 yards, 239 passing yards, and 126 rushing yards per game, while Sam Houston St. is averaging 43 points, 613.5 yards of total offense, 257 rushing yards, and 356.5 passing yards per game.

Defensively, the Tigers are allowing 24 points, 318 total yards, 268 rushing yards, and 50 passing yards a contest, while the Bearkats are giving up 38 points, 513 total yards, 229 rushing yards, and 284 passing yards per match-up.

LSU is led by sophomore quarterback Anthony Jennings, who has thrown for 239 yards, with two touchdowns and no interceptions this year, along with senior running back Kenny Hilliard, who has accumulated 110 rushing yards, including a touchdown, on 18 carries, and sophomore receiver Travin Dural, who has 151 receiving yards, including a touchdown.

Sam Houston St. is paced by sophomore quarterback Jared Johnson, who has passed for 703 yards through two games, including five touchdowns, and senior running back Keshawn Hill, who has run for 190 yards and two touchdowns.

Kickoff time is scheduled for 6:30 pm.
