The top-seeded LSU Tigers moved into NCAA Super Regional play, after capturing a come-from-behind, 6-5, ten inning, victory over the second-seeded Oregon St. Beavers, to win the Baton Rouge, La. Regional, on Sunday night, at Alex Box Stadium.

Oregon St. eliminated the ULM Warhawks earlier on Sunday, by a score of 11-2, before advancing to take on LSU, who defeated the Beavers, 7-1, on Saturday.

The win by LSU kept them undefeated in the regional, and gave them the regional title, which advances them to Super Regional play for the first time since 2009.

LSU jumped on top first, as Raph Rhymes blasted a two-run homer off OSU starter Taylor Starr, highlighting a three-run top half of the first inning, giving the Tigers a quick 3-0 lead.

The Beavers then chipped away off LSU starter Ryan Eades, scoring single runs in the  first, second, and fourth innings, to tie it, before a two-run sixth gave them a 5-3 advantage.

The Tigers put up an unearned run in the seventh, to cut the OSU lead to 5-4.

Ty Ross doubled to lead off the ninth inning, and with one out, Alex Edward doubled, scoring pinch-runner Jared Foster, to tie it, 5-5.

In the top of the tenth inning, LSU shortstop Austin Nola walked off OSU relief pitcher Dylan Davis, advanced to third on a double down the right-field line off the bat of JaCoby Jones, and scored on a wild pitch, giving the Tigers a 6-5 lead.

Nick Goody pitched a perfect bottom of the tenth for LSU, striking out the side, securing the Tigers' victory.

Scott Schultz, who pitched eight-and-two thirds of relief, got a no-decision, but kept Oregon St in the game. Schults, who came into the game with one out in the first inning, allowed only three hits, no walks, and two runs, only one earned, while striking out nine hitters.

Chris Cotton (7-0) got the win for LSU, with Goody recording his eleventh save, while Davis (1-1) suffered the loss for OSU.

With the win, LSU improved to 46-16 on the year, while the loss ends the season for Oregon St. with a record of 40-20.

LSU will host Super Regional play next weekend, at Alex Box Stadium, as they take on either UCF, or Stony Brook.
