The Los Angeles Clippers, not the Los Angeles Lakers now have former New Orleans Hornets star Chris Paul on their roster, and at least one Lakers player thinks it's a conspiracy.

Kobe Bryant says he believes the NBA owners lobbied for the proposed trade with the Lakers to be vetoed by the league because they can't stand the idea of the Lakers getting better.

Bryant's point of view was shared by many fans, especially those of the Hornets.  Commissioner David Stern was roundly criticized by Hornets fans after the deal was vetoed.

Stern said after the trade to the Clippers was confirmed that he will not consider selling the NBA-owned Hornets to anyone who would move them out of the Crescent City.
