Jordan Nicholson Honored With Two Awards

Louisiana Ragin' Cajun pitcher Jordan Nicholson was honored today as both the Sun Belt Conference pitcher of the week, and the LSWA (Louisiana Sports Writers Association) pitcher of the week.

In last Friday's win over ULM, Nicholson threw a complete game, four-inning shutout. The Senior from Ruston started the game by retiring the first 10 Warhawks batters he faced. He ended the game the same way, retiring 10 consecutive batters on the way to victory.

“It’s a good award that recognizes the amount of time and effort that goes into the preparation for six days to perform at your best on that one day,” head coach Tony Robichaux stated. “Any pitcher who throws a complete game shutout in this tough conference deserves an award, especially when they do it on the road.”

We agree with Coach. Apparently the LSWA and SBC do too.
