New Orleans Saints Pro-Bowl middle linebacker Jonathan Vilma has reportedly had surgery on his injured knee. Vilma had already missed 3 games this year due to the injury, including the last 2.

The Saints have denied reports of Vilma's surgery, but the Times-Picayune received confirmation from a league source that Vilma did in fact have surgery to repair the injury. The extent of the operation, as well as the amount of rehab time, is not known at this time. The Saints have not placed Vilma on injured reserve, which is a good indication he will return.
