Derek Jeter started his second comeback of the season with a bang.

On the first pitch in his first at bat, Jeter homered to the opposite field, earning a standing ovation from the crowd in the Bronx.

It was the first home run hit by a right handed hitter for the Yankees in over a month.  The Yankees avoided a sweep by Tampa Bay with a 6-5 win.

Alfonso Soriano, acquired by the Yankees on Friday, singled to knock in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.

Jeter had tried a comeback back on July 11th, but had to leave the game and was put back on the disabled list the next day.  It was the only game he had played in all season prior to today.
