Future Hall of Fame football coach Bill Parcells was asked today how he would respond if current (soon to be suspended) Saints head coach Sean Payton asked him to be New Orleans’ interim head coach for the 2012 season. Bill explained that it would be hypocritical if he didn’t consider taking Payton up on the offer.

“Sean’s become a dear, dear friend. I’m trying to be a friend,” explained Parcells.

Parcells spoke with espn NFL insider Chris Mortensen by phone this evening. Click here to read more about Parcells reaction to the Saints opening, as well as his close friendship with Payton.
