Miami Marlins outfielder Ichiro Suzuki collected the 3,000th hit of his great career on Sunday afternoon, tripling off the right-field wall in the 7th inning, in the Marlins' 10-7 win over the Colorado Rockies at Coors Field.

The 42-year old Ichiro, who became the 30th player in MLB history to get to 3,000 hits, became only the second player to get to the historic mark with a triple.

A 10-time All-Star, and a .314 lifetime hitter, Ichiro got to 3,000 hits in only 2,451 career games, having not played in Major League Baseball until 2001, at the age of 27.
